PARADE 誌のコラム"Ask Marilyn"で Marilyn vos Savant が与えた解答に反論した数学博士の一人 Sachs 博士が、自分の負けを認めて Marilyn vos Savant に送った手紙の文面が1991年7月21日のNew York Times 日曜版 (Tierney, John (1991).) で紹介されています。その手紙の英文から、私が興味を感じた文型を取り上げて見ます。

そうすることで論文に関与した執筆者の洞察力の欠如をほのめかすことになってしまったら、
かえって知性を疑われてしまうでしょう。
たとえば、Morgan たちの論文に見られる意図的な誤解にスポットライトを当てて、 沢山の言葉に別の解釈を示すことは簡単ですが、 執筆者たちは自分たちが何を語っているか承知の上でわざとそうしているのかも知れません。
